Fata Morgana

Fata Morgana pullover, first published in Pom Pom Quarterly, issue 30: Autumn 2019, was inspired by a holiday to the beach.  The lace and reverse stocking stitch pattern reflect the undulating waves and the halo from the mohair resembles the froth from the waves washing up the beach. The pullover has set-in sleeves.

Fata Morgana, worked in the Ocean by the Sea DK meadow base and the mohair silk laceweight base, is knit flat from the bottom up in pieces and seamed before picking up stitches for the neckband. The neckband is knit in the round.

The slight crop sweater with long sleeves creates a garment that looks good with a skirt as well as trousers.
